Meet the team: Annie Laurie

Hi! My name is Annie Laurie Hund and I am currently a freshman at Seattle Pacific University. My intended       major is Communications with a minor in Business. I love singing, playing guitar, acting, dancing, and all kinds of sports. I love coffee, hanging out with friends, spending time with family, going on adventures, taking pictures, laughing, hiking, and being involved in Young life. Oh and i LOVE to have fun! I can’t thank God enough for answering my prayer about visiting Haiti. A few years ago I prayed about the opportunity to serve there at some point in my life. I never thought it would be this soon, or even through my school. But God’s timing is perfect and I truly believe this experience will change my life. I am extremely blessed to be going with Emily and Maddy. They are both unique, beautiful women in Christ who have a heart to serve.  Not to mention every time we’re together we always end up laughing about something. Laughter is good! This is my first missions trip and I’m excited to serve in any way that I can. God is already doing amazing work in the beautiful country of Haiti. I love Jesus with all my heart and I can’t wait for what He has in store!

Words can’t express my gratitude toward you all for your continuous prayer and support. It means so much!

Lots of love,

Annie Laurie

Meet the Team: Emily

Hi all! My name is Emily Birks and I am currently a sophomore here at SPU. My intended major is Psychology with a minor in Educational Ministry. I love Seattle, iced caramel macchiato’s, thrift store shopping, music, movies, star gazing, taking pictures, and laughing. I also love spending time with my friends and family.

Every summer for the past six years I have been actively involved in the camping ministry. But this summer I am changing things up and going to the country of Haiti, to serve God in a new place with new people. Honestly, I couldn’t be more excited about this opportunity. It’s going to be different, but I know God has some beautiful things in store for me there. My teammates and I have already had a blast getting to know each other, and I am looking forward to our many adventures, continuous laughter, and the unforgettable memories we will share with each other, as well as with the people of Haiti.

Thanks for your interest in this exciting chapter of our lives, and I can’t wait to share what God shows us and teaches us throughout this journey.

Peace!

Meet the team: Maddy!

ImageHello friends! Mwen rele Maddy! Look at me, I’m not even in Haiti yet and I already know how to say ‘my name is’, and now you do too! I am so excited to spend two weeks in Haiti with my two incredible teammates (we found out within days of meeting each other that we are all equally obsessed with Justin Bieber). I can truly say that God has blessed me more than I ever imagined with an amazing opportunity and an incredible team whom I get to share it with. I am a freshman here at SPU and I am currently a pre-nursing student. I love adventuring in Seattle and anything that includes laughter and friends! I love Jesus and He has blessed me with amazing family and friends. I am so excited to go to the beautiful country of Haiti (have I said that enough yet?) and be immersed in their culture and help them in any way I can. All while serving our awesome God!
